Feeling the Quest Excitement with Eva Lazarus

Last week, we revealed the final additions to what is surely Quest’s best lineup yet. Representing every genre under the sun, from every corner of the globe, the acts coming to Quest 2018 will be performing musical mastery across our five unique stages.

One act we are incredibly excited about? The full-power vocals and dance-reggae-dub-jungle vibes of Birmingham-born singer/MC Eva Lazarus. With iconic UK festivals like Glastonbury and Boomtown under her belt and a reputation for slick live shows, Quest should be treated to one hell of a performance.

We sat down with the girl herself to find out what she’s looking forward to at Quest Festival 2018.

Hi Eva, we are really excited to have you at Quest 2018! Will this be your first time visiting Vietnam?

Hi! Thank you so much! Yes, this will be my first time in Vietnam. I’m so excited, I can’t wait!

Apart from the festival, do you have any other plans while in the country?

Hopefully, to explore Sapa and try as much food as I can! I love Vietnamese food!

Us too! There will be loads at the festival to try. What are you looking forward to most?

I’m looking forward to sharing my music in such a beautiful setting, plus I always find it interesting to see what type of energy different festivals can give you! I’ve watched a few videos, it looks great but I can’t wait to experience it for myself!

What other festivals have you played this year and do you have a favourite?

Boomtown Festival in the UK was unbelievable this year!

Ooh very jealous! What is it you like about playing festivals rather than individual gigs?

The atmosphere is completely different, it feels like anything goes at a festival! People are wild, there is this unspoken rule that you can dress how you want, swap your stress for euphoria and forget about the real world until you go home!

We couldn’t agree more. And other than the music, what is your favourite part of a festival?

I love seeing when a festival has thought about the decor. Seeing a theme or pockets of creative expression, digital or otherwise, really makes you feel like the organisers want you to feel something new in the space they have created for you.

Well, we are sure Quest will deliver with this year’s amazing theme! One final question: there’s going to be a lot of new local listeners, how would you explain your sound to them?

I’m a multi-genre artist so I make anything from hip-hop, reggae, dancehall, all the way through to garage, drum and bass, and jungle. I enjoy listening to lots of different genres and creating is no different!

Thanks, Eva, we can’t wait to see you at Quest 2018!
