“The Bay Collective is an open project by Vietnamese/danish pianist TRI MINH and danish singer/songwriter NANNA BOTTOS. They blend jazz/pop vibes with their original new, compositions and remake some of the well-known songs from their respected culture background in their native language. “LANDSCAPE”, The Bay Collective’s first album is a journey of culture exploration with original compositions, painting pictures of landscapes and emotions with their music and lyrics which also raise awareness on environmental issues. The Bay Collective is an intimate duo of piano and vocal and on stage also with invited guest(s).

One Man Band Madness
Vurro is a shirtless, cow skull-wearing one-man band. According to the legend, in a remote small village somewhere in the mountains. A farmer lost his cow in a snowstorm. He loved the animal so much that he would not stop looking for it for days. He fainted on the snow and he had a vision, he saw the exact place where the cow was lying. He woke up and walked to his beloved cow. Wolves had attacked it and it was buried under snow, dying. In its agony the animal ceded his head to the farmer and they became one, giving birth to Vurro : Half man, half cow.
He would dedicate his life to spread its message around the world. With magic coming through his fingers and rhythm running through his veins this animal of the keyboards hits the cymbals with his horns and plays powerful drums with his feet. With bells in his arms and a voice from beyond the grave invites the believers to be transformed in his shamanic ceremony of rhythm and rock and roll. Vurro, the wild virtuoso, will open the gates of the rough underworld of rock so you can go across dancing.
Stars & Rabbit - IDN
Indonesia’s Stars and Rabbit are at the forefront of a new generation of talented artists from the creative hotspot of Yogyakarta. Lead singer Elda Suryani’s incredibly unique vocals conjures memories of gifted female vocalists such as Björk and Lamb’s Lou Rhodes, while their ethereal dream-pop style has drawn comparisons with bands as diverse as First Aid Kit to Emiliana Torrini.

DJ Jase - VN
Jase is the original Bass DJ of Vietnam, he had been a pioneer of Jungle and Dubstep,Glitch Hop scene since 2007 in his native land.
Jase self taught himself the art of djing in 2001, when he bought his 1200s.
House was his first genre of choice for the first year. As Jase progressed, he found House’s beat was to simple so the next genre was Nu Skool Breaks due to its popularity of it at that time in Sydney.
He slowly moved toward Drum and Bass, Hiphop and Reggae after-co founded the infamous Sydney’s DNB promotional crew “Foreigndub” which made numorous successful parties bringing international DJs including DJ Marky and Stamina MC, Big Bud, DJ Patife & MC Cleveland Watkiss, Kenny Ken and many more.
In 2007, Jase returns to his hometown Ho Chi Minh, and started The Beats, which focuses on promoting beat based music and brining international DJs to town, he also co-founded Saigon Rockers with party such as Reggae Sunday.

John & Ray - IRLJohn & Ray are an Irish acoustic duo whose songs are influenced by what they have heard and listened to since moving to South East Asia 2 years ago. The duo met while travelling in Thailand through mutual friends and started their musical adventure together while living for a year in Sihanouk Province, Cambodia, playing regularly in Koh Rong, Sihanoukville, Otres and Kampot. While there, they honed in their tastes which inspired many originals they still play today. They are now living in Hanoi and the duo have been consistently writing since meeting and will be recording their first album, this summer in Hanoi featuring a 6 piece band.

In an alley by a lake shrouded in mist Tobias Paramore sweats over samplers and synthesisers, bringing new rhythms together for the latest tomes production. The gentle hustle of Hanoi’s streets provides a sonic backdrop for raw elements woven together on the UK’s shores. Since releasing his fifth EP ‘bright noise’ last year tomes’ sound has continued to evolve. Keeping a raw edge and gritty tone, each element rings clear in a dynamic and layered soundscape.
Off-kilter grooves and crackly cassettes interlock with deep kicks and sizzling synthesisers; chunks of UK underground filtered through Asia’s heavyweight dance scene. Colin Devaney - IRL

Colin Devaney is a singer/songwriter originally from Galway who started busking as a profession (from which he made a living off for the best part of two years) and released his first EP, “4”, in 2010. He started operatic training around this period as well, and while he never pursued it professionally, he is known to include the occasional operatic aria in his set when he feels he especially needs to be noticed. Critics have compared Colin’s vocals to Thom Yorke, Cee Lo Green, Chris Cornell, Dave Grohl, John Martyn and Jeff Buckley.

Brooklyn-based Neofolk Jazz artist, DJ, and producer Stanford Reid can be called a renaissance man. As a performing artist touring internationally, multi-instrumentalist Stanford Reid captivates audiences with every chord, smooth bass-line, and mesmerizing sax solo he programs and loops live using his RC-30 Loop station and Korg Electribe. As a DJ, Stanford blends an eclectic mix of hip-hop, house, Afrobeat, and reggae with live electric bass and alto sax. SamRaz start in may of 2015 in Israel with jamming sessions. They decided to continue playing and performing around the country for few days until that Sam had to go back to his country, on 2016 the duo come again to play and performed in the main cities in Israel (Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Elat) and they come to (Sinai) Egypt for few weeks to perform, then they decide to be a band and continue to share the music around the world. Over the last year they have performed around Asia and Europe.
Sirens Of Ha Long - INT / VN
Coming together after realizing they shared a mutual experience, Sirens of Ha Long created a musical project as a form of self therapy and a vehicle to create awareness about the dangers that lurk in the depths of Vietnam’s famed bay.

This self-taught producer’s style is marked by a blend of hip-hop, disco, Latin grooves and classic house sounds which are present in the wide range of original productions and remixes in his repertoire. After spending a year in Spain honing his craft and being able to play on the legendary white isle, Ibiza, and world renown clubs in Barcelona, such as Opium, it is clear to see that the old world’s dance music style has rubbed off on him. Based in Saigon, Tokyo Moon, formed in early 2017 fuse triphop, rock, soul, and electronica sounds, likened to the soul of Amy Winehouse, and the musicality Waldeck, Portishead and Massive Attack. Tokyo Moon are fronted by British vocalist Claire Robbin, a well-established singer-songwriter on the Saigon music scene, who recorded her first solo album at MCM Studio in 2015 and signed to Inspiral Records Saigon in 2016. Tokyo Moon are currently preparing for a studio album beginning in October 2017, and bring members from Australia, the Philippines, and the US. Performances are evocative, sultry, and carnally charged.
Datodeo - FR

Long-time record collector, Datodeo moved his collection to Vietnam and has since spent most of his spare time spinning around Saigon and Vietnam. Rooted in jazz-funk and disco in all its forms, Datodeo loves exploring all sorts of musical landscapes during his sets, with a predilection for afro rhythms, latin flavours, and house infused grooves.
He also runs the Vietnam Loves Vinyl Community on Facebook and worked on the Saigon SuperSound Compilation with Jan Hagenkoetter.

Creative director for Quest Festival Mark Harris has been wowing audiences with his larger then life creative products throughout Hanoi as well as bringing his ‘Gingerworks projects’ to festivals all through the world. A self-confessed late bloomer, it wasn’t until 2007 that old skool club-stalwart Nicole found herself living in a house blessed with turntables, and the bug bit hard. Quickly grasping the fundamentals of vinyl, timecode and controller interfaces, she found a passion for big room, bass heavy, thumping techno. Nicole’s techno sound has evolved to be as competent opening a floor as closing a party, whilst always remaining accessible to the changing dancefloor landscape. Boogie GBoogie G is the promoter / DJ behind the Nite Ride party which aims to promote the Modern Funk / Boogie / Disco sound in Bangkok and further in Asia. He’s been a serious digger with a true dedication to vinyl since buying his first pair of turntables at the age of 14.

Tazer is a rapper who originally hails from Dublin, Ireland, but has spent the last decade in Eastern France. After coming up through the ranks in the local underground scene, opening for a variety of famous acts he has now turned his attention to Vietnam where he continues to perform high-energy sets with a dollop of humour for good measure! Loves green and adore strawberry ice-cream.

Decoded is a unique deep dark forest psychedelic DJ act from South Africa. Dashing out full power melodic beats in the South coast of Africa to one of Johannesburg’s biggest event’s Tswaing crater. He found his way to South East Asia where he became the founder of an event in Hanoi Vietnam called Odyssey Tribe starting the underground psychedelic scene and will be keeping things twisted for Quest.

An immersive musical dance event aimed at raising the energy and the mood of the entire festival on an early Saturday morning in November. We work in collaboration with Morning Gloryville, the pioneers of the globally-loved early-morning sober dance movement. With a focus on healthy dancing we will get people moving, smiling and socializing, while bathed in the sunrise to a variety of uplifting DJ sets with saxophone and mc to accompany. And those who really wish to wake up to a positive start will be able to join our acro yoga workshop by the side of the dance floor. Our team of uplifters in fun themed attire, dancing and performing will bring added joy to the crowd.
Quartz - UK
Patrick MacPherson aka Quartz first learned to Dj 15 years ago on vinyl. He moved onto CD and digital and bridged between many genres and scenes until he found himself in front of a crowd of 800 people at 7am on a wednesday morning in east London at the world renowned sober early morning rave Morning Gloryville to open their first major party of 2016. His style ranges between a mix of genres through eclectic house, electro and techno to the occasional drum and bass or 90s specialist mix. After warming up the deck one morning for Roger Sanchez, he left London and landed in Hanoi where he has played for venues such as Rafiki and pioneering the sober dance movement in Hanoi with Greendance at Hanoi Rock City. Quartz always takes the dancers on a journey through sound, throwing in uplifting surprises in every set, and bringing smiles and energy to every dance floor that he conducts through sound.

Sonny’s a staple of the Hanoi House scene with a musical palette as colourful as his upbringing. He’s been inspired by living in numerous countries and held residencies throughout the eastern world, leading him to Vietnam.Holding residency at Savage, and hosting nights in the underground venue Birdcage. He visits house, percussion and tech in his sets with a spine of basslines. You can even catch him saying hello to disco.
